Commissioned by the Vancouver Foundation, "My Mother's Home" celebrates migration, motherhood, and diversity. This film aired at the Fresh Voices My Mothers Home Exhibition, in May 2017.

Screened at Vancouver Asian Film Festivals's public premiere presentation of the “We Heart Canada” video project, celebrating Canada 150 and Vancouver’s diverse immigrant experience. Presented through collaboration between non-profit organizations and independent filmmakers, and in partnership with the City of Vancouver/Vancouver Immigration Partnership.

In 2017, over 200 immigrant and refugee youth gathered at Science World for the 2017 Fresh Voices Awards, a partnership between the Vancouver Foundation, Michaëlle Jean Foundation, and Vancity Credit Union.

The awards recognized the leadership of newcomer youth who, in British Columbia and across Canada, are working to advance social change based on themes and priorities such as immigration, education, and cross-cultural dialogue.

Fresh Roots works with teachers and students in outdoor classrooms during the day, and provides critical employment skills training and empowerment programing for vulnerable youth after-school and during summer break when school food security initiatives are on recess.
